JORDAN is a land of great history, this is evident in the numerous archaeological sites within the country, among the most famous is the ancient Roman city of JERASH.

The city was established over 2000 years ago during the height of the strength and wealth of the Roman empire.

Located at the crossroads between East and West, in the fertile vally of Gilaed, JERASH prospored during the period between the first and fourth centuries A.D.

Archaeologists and tourists from all over the world have been atracted by the beauty and history of JERASH for many years. Nothing quite compares to a stroll along the Colonnade, through Hardian's Arch de Triumph, the Northern Gate, the Temple of Artemis, and the Forum amongst other monuments.

The Amman Jerash Rotary Club has adopted its name in reverence to the splendor and resilience of this great city which is considered to be one of the most significant sites in Jordan.
